All About Pengy!

Pengy: The icon penguin seen on SeerOfSouls website has been a fixture on the sight since late 2004. When first added to the site, Pengy was merely a decoration; something to add a little color or humor to the site. Little did the site owner, Hawkwind, realize that Pengy would become a cult idol among the users of SoS.

Pengy IS SoS - SoS without Pengy would be just another website. People familiar with the site and those visiting for the first time automattically look for the affable little Pengy before reading anything on the site itself.

Although the site has grown and changed over the years, Pengy has remained a constant. Always on the banner, usually appearing on every page, the little bow-tie-sporting Pengy is the one thing about SoS that has remained unchangeable. Without Pengy, there would be no SoS.

In a recent and on-going banner contest, several users sent in their designs for the new banner that will soon adorn SoS. In almost every entry - without any direction from anyone other than their own imagination, an amazing fact became evident. Although the designs sent in are quite varied as far as color schemes, text, placement of icons, etc. one thing they ALL bore in common.... Pengy was prevalent as an integral part of almost every banner design submitted. Amazing... This little idiom of computer-generated artwork has become a staple of a site seen worldwide. As was earlier stated, Pengy IS SoS. Original creator of Pengy was Carlitus who does the Noia Icon Sets for many different apps for both Windows and Linux.
